Spring, to me, is the time when the natural world around us wakes up again. Budding plants, birds singing, warmth, more daylight, all signs of coming of the more readily seen life all around us. This experience helps our understanding of the resurrection that we celebrate at Easter (and every Sunday) but only to a point. With Spring we get what we’re expecting, but with resurrection we get a surprise. The post-resurrection stories from scripture are consistent in showing something new, which is at first the followers of Jesus did not recognize. I think as we move through our emergence from Covid restrictions, that we must be like the followers of Jesus, and be willing to be surprised! – Owen
