All Saints, All Souls

It is our custom at St. George’s to mark All Saints and All Souls by including in our worship an opportunity to mark the lives of those in our community who have passed on to the other shore.

This year, due to the current suspension of our in-person worship, we are remembering and giving thanks to God for those loves of our loved ones in an online video.

In this video, I will lead us in prayer and hold up in those prayers those who have died and all who grieve. I will be lighting candles and reading the names of those in our parish family who died in the last year and the names of those who the ministry of our parish have assisted liturgically and pastorally in their loss.

Our online worship also remembers and gives thanks for others from our parish family and extended family and friend whose lives we continue to grieve and for who we still give thanks. Their names, I have collected from you and added to the video as I lit additional candle for them.

Each of those for whom we light a candle is just one of the great cloud of witnesses of those who by their lives and example showed, in their own ways, the many ways that God’s love is reflected by us and to us.
