The Good Shepherd cares for every life

Alleluia! Christ is Risen!

This is the Sunday in Easter that we often refer to as Good Shepherd Sunday.

The Good Shepherd is a very rich image that highlights the protection, care, and guidance of Jesus. As our reading today highlights a shepherd might even need to serve as the Gate and Gate keeper to the fold as a shepherd might need to lie down in the gap to sleep to protect and keep the sheep safe through the night.

Personally, I have never been a big fan of being thought of as a sheep, but in God’s case, I’ll let it slide.

Jesus Christ gave up his life so that you and I would be restored back into God’s fold.  That is pretty awesome.

Here is a video with prayers and a message for the 4th Sunday of Easter, May 3, 2020.

The sermon’s message is based on the reading from John’s Gospel chapter 10, verses 1 to 10. All the readings for this Sunday can be read here.

If you are looking for some more church this Sunday be sure to check out our diocesan Facebook page and YouTube page for more live-streamed (This Sunday at 10am on Facebook) and recorded liturgies from Bishop Susan Bell.

Be well and God Bless you.

Yours in Christ,

The Rev’d Canon Rob Park
