Happy spring St. George’s Families,
As I write this it is a beautiful day with the spring flowers beginning to bloom and the grass that vibrant green that is reserved for spring. Life returns to the land and the cold and snow are relegated to the mists of memory. Many of us are making summer plans for vacation, camps for the kids, exciting day trips and just spending some lazy days with a cold lemonade and a good book.
Kid’s Camp is July 2-6 this year and the theme is Rolling River Rampage: Experience the Ride of a Lifetime with God. Kid’s Camp is for children 4-9. It is a half day camp 9 to noon. The cost is $40 per child. The registration form is here. We always have a great time.
Messy Church this month is May 11, Friday from 5:30 to 7:30. We will be having a BBQ. The weather has been so unpredictable this year that I have decided to play it safe and have Messy Church in the hall rather than outside. We always end up chasing bits of crafts carried off by the wind, so this will be less challenging! Their will be hamburgs and hot dogs, potato chips and veggies. We will have yoghurt fruit cups for dessert. The theme for this month is the Good Samaritan. We did this theme in 2008 and I thought it was time to revisit it.
I will be retiring in July, but I will continue to lead Messy Church with the help of the great team at St. George’s. I am on the executive of Messy Church Canada and it is my experience with our Messy Church which allows me to teach and mentor others across Canada. I have always felt that Messy Church at St. George’s has been a blessing in my life. I thank you for your support.
Church School will continue until the end of June. We can always use new Church School leaders and if you feel you could help out that would be wonderful It is a once a month commitment, from September until June. That is only 10 times a year!
Have a great spring. Enjoy the nice weather that has finally come our way and I hope to see you soon.
Blessings,
Nancy
