Family Ministry – May 2017

Hello St. George’s families,

I hope you had a lovely Easter and were able to enjoy some time with

friends and family. I hope that you got to enjoy some chocolate as well, even if you had to ‘steal’ some from the kids! With Easter comes the nice weather and spring is definitely here and summer is closer every day. It will be nice to be able to slip into sandals again.

2017MessyChurchOur next Messy Church is May 10 and it will be the last one before the summer break. Our Messy Church will be outside (weather permitting) and we will be having a barbeque. The theme is The Road to Emmaus. The story takes place on the same day that the women went to the tomb and discovered angels in the empty tomb. As usual there are a variety of crafts and activities. There will be a bouncy castle! The fun starts at 5:00, but Messy Church starts for you when you are able to get there.

Things are gearing up for our annual Kid’s Camp. Kid’s Camp is July 3-7 and is for kids 4-9 years old. It is from 9:00 to noon. The theme is Hero Central. The cost is $40.00 per child and includes a music CD, a Hero Central T-shirt, crafts, snacks and a lot of fun. There is registration form here. We always have a great time, both kids and leaders. If you would like to join us as a leader let me know.

11_15serviceChurchschoolIf you are finding that Sunday worship may be a possibility for you and your family, I would suggest you try the 11:15 service which is our contemporary service. This is the service that most young families attend because it is later and it is a more relaxed service. There is nursery care available in the lounge and for the older kids there is a table in the church with activities and crafts going on during the service. The children leave during the sermon for a bible story and game and then return for communion. Kids are welcome to stay with Mom and Dad as well. There is Tim Horton’s coffee available and Timbits (always a big hit with the kids). No need to dress up, just come as you are.

Hope you are getting a chance to enjoy the spring weather. I look forward to seeing you soon.

Blessings,

Nancy
