December is a great month at St. George’s in Georgetown. Before we get to Christmas there are still two Sunday’s left in the season of Advent and you are welcome to join us at 8am, 9:30am, and 11:15am. Advent helps us to prepare for the coming of Christ into our hearts.
We also prepare with a very traditional Nine Lessons & Carols service on Thursday, December 15 at 7pm. We hear the important story of the birth and pause between its chapters to sing wonderful Christmas Carols.
Then on that most blessed night, Christmas Eve, we open the doors of the church for three opportunities to celebrate Jesus Christ’s birth. 5:00 pm is our more casual Family Service with the blessing of the creche. The 7:00pm service is a traditional service (from the Book of Alternative Services) with carols and communion. The last service, at 9:00pm is also traditional and includes our church choir. We are delighted to have the talented Chris Dawes playing the piano and organ again this Christmas at our 7 and 9 pm services.
On Christmas Day, we welcome you to attend our 10:00am Service.
I hope to see you here at St. George’s to celebrate the birth of the Messiah.
