Family Ministry – November 2016

Greetings St. George’s Families.

2015nancycelebratesIt seems hard to believe but Christmas is not that far off. The stores have had Christmas decorations out since Thanksgiving! In the Church we will be entering the season of Advent which is the four weeks before Christmas. Advent is a time of preparation for the coming of Christ into the world. Advent can be a time for us to step away for a bit from the craziness of the season to quietly reflect on our spiritual journey.

Messy Church this month is November 9 and the theme is the Journey to Christmas. The adult craft is a really nice candle holder. For families there are some cute crafts as well. We will be having chicken fingers and fries with veggies on the side. The doors open at 5:00pm.

I am pleased to let you know that we have had a positive response to our request for people to sign up for pre-authorized giving to St. George’s. The big advantage to St. George’s is that pre-authorized gives us a regular, dependable source of income on which to budget. The advantage to you is that you do not have to worry about your financial commitment to St. George’s, it happens each month on a regular basis. If you would like to participate in pre-authorized giving go to the donate page at the St. George’s website.

St. George’s Christmas Bazaar is November 5. There is a bake table, craft table, white elephant, book table, penny sale with a twist, jewelry table and a table, with hand made knitting. There is also lunch room for those who would like home made goodies and a lunch. We have been told that St. George’s has the best bazaar in town! Doors open at 10:00 and the bazaar ends at 2:00. If you have some free time after 2:00, help to take down would be much appreciated.

I hope to see you soon.

Blessings,

Nancy
