Greetings St. George’s Families,
Labour Day marks the unofficial end to summer although officially it is September 21. Preparations for returning to school are well under way I suspect with new shoes, clothes and back packs being gathered. I hope you were able to get away for a vacation and are refreshed and renewed for the busy fall.
Church School resumes September 4. Church School leaders are needed. If you are able to help out at all, please let me know. Everything is prepared and you only need to come. Much of Church School happens in the Church during the service so you are still part of the congregation. During the service you and the children leave for the hall to hear the story of the day and have a game and then return for Communion.
On September 11 there will be the Church Picnic after the 11:15 service (approximately 12:30). There will be hamburgs and hot dogs, games and a chance to catch up on everyone’s news from the summer. Salads, desserts and drinks are pot luck. Please plan on being part of the Church Picnic.
Messy Church is September 14 (the second Wednesday). The doors open at 5:00. The theme is Adam and Eve. I have a super special art activity for the adults this month. We will be having a BBQ this month. I am looking forward to seeing everyone after the summer hiatus.
The 11:15 service is our Contemporary Service with a praise team of various instruments and singers and contemporary music. If you play an instrument or enjoy singing, the praise team would love to have you come and be part of the group. We practice on Thursday evening.
There will a reunion of the Kid’s Camp participants on September 25 at the 11:15 service. The kids will be singing a couple of the songs and doing a presentation of a story about Jesus. We will have our Kid’s Camp T-shirts and lots of enthusiasm. Come and see what the kids and leaders have prepared.
I am looking forward to being with you on our spiritual journey in the coming year. Hope to see you soon.
Blessings,
Nancy
