Greetings St. George’s families,
I hope that you are having a wonderful summer. Children and summer are a perfect combination of fun and an opportunity to live life to the fullest. I wish for each of you a perfect balance of relaxation and excitement. For myself, I am looking forward to some time away in August.
Summer Services
During the summer at St. George’s, there are only two services on a Sunday, 8:00 (Book of Common Prayer) and 9:30 (Book of Alternative Services). On September 7 the 11:15 service (Contemporary) will resume. The Thursday morning 10:00 service continues as usual. Messy Church is ‘on vacation’ during the summer and will return on September 10th.
Kid’s Camp Success
Kid’s Camp was a success again this year. We were full with 30 children participating and 17 volunteers providing the program, and everyone had a great time! Several First Steps children and parents (as volunteers), were part of St. George’s Kid’s Camp. We did some great crafts, played fun games, had a whale of a time at the water gun fight on the last day and heard some great stories about God. Kid’s Camp is for children age 4-9 and will be happening next year in July 6-10. I would encourage you to consider Kid’s Camp for your children next year.
The next First Steps letter will have information about the programs and activities that will be resuming this fall at St. George’s.
God’s blessings on you and your family,
The Rev’d Nancy Rowe
