Hi St. George’s Families,
Ahh summer! It is so great to be in sandals again. Plans are shaping up for our summer Kid’s Camp, July 7-11, which is always a great time. We will be having our annual water gun fight on the last day which is a great way to cool down on a hot summer’s day! Our camp is from 9:00 to noon with snacks, games, crafts, music and science. Each child receives a T-shirt and a CD with the Kid’s Camp songs. Kid’s Camp is for kids 4-9 and the cost is $35.00 per child. Registration forms are on the website (www.stgeorgesgeorgetown.com) or are available from the Church office. You can also call the office and a form will be placed in the mailbox ready for you to pick up at your convenience. There are also spots for any adults who would like to help out, only if it is just one morning that you have free.
The Georgetown market opens this week-end and I will have table on the sidewalk with Kid’s Camp registrations, freezies for the little ones and biscuits for the dogs. Please stop by and say hi.
The Church picnic is June 22. Potluck desserts and salads, with BBQ hamburgs, sausages and hotdogs provided. There will be games for parents and children to participate in together. The Church picnic will start after the 11:15 service at 12:30. Come and have a good time with your Church family.
During July and August, St. George’s has two services on a Sunday 8:00 (a quiet, contemplative service) and 9:30 (a traditional service). Shorts and T-shirts are perfectly acceptable!
Messy Church this month is June 11 and we will be celebrating Pentecost, which marks the coming of the Holy Spirit to all who follow the way of Jesus. We will be having Messy Church outside (as long as the weather co-operates) with salads, a BBQ and dessert. This marks the last of Messy Church until after the summer. The fun starts at 4:30.
