Greetings St. George’s Families,

I was so pleased to see many of you at our Easter services. It is a wonderful time to gather with our Christian family and celebrate the gift of the living Christ. I hope you had a great time gathering with family and sharing an Easter feast.
Our Church School is thriving and we are excited that the new format is working well. The feedback from families is that they are pleased to spend the majority of the service together and yet there is still opportunity for the children to learn and explore their faith. Church School happens at the 11:15 service.
Messy Church this month is April 10 and the theme is The Good Shepherd. We will be making sheep, shepherd’s crooks and other cool stuff. Supper will be shepherd’s pie (what else of course!). Dessert is sheep cupcakes for. The doors open at 5:00 but, as always, come when you are able and leave when you have to.
The next PD Day is April 26 and St. George’s is offering a full day Kid’s Camp program (9:00 – 3:00). There are snacks, lunch, games, crafts and fun, all for $20.00. Registration forms are available on the St. George’s website here for from the office. Kid’s Camp is for children from 4 – 9.
St. George’s has a new fund raising initiative called the Shop and Support program. All you have to do is shop like you do each month for groceries, gas, eating out and other normal everyday purchases, at your normal retailers, and all we ask is that you pay for these items using gift cards ordered through St. George’s instead of using cash or your debit card at the register. The money raised comes from the retailers themselves who save on charges they pay when credit cards are used. Order forms and a list of participating retailers is available for pick up at the Church. St. Georges receives a percentage of your gift cards ordered. If 50 families all participate in this project for a year, we can easily raise $10,000. Please give it a try and help us out. Questions? Please contact the church office at 905-877-8044.
Do you have a new baby? [0 to mobile] Do you have a million questions? Come and meet other new parents with new babies to chat in an informal setting. Join us at St. Georges Anglican Church, Friday mornings, 10:30 – 12:30pm for Baby Talk.
St. George’s is part of the Fresh Food Box program that encourages healthy eating by providing fruits and vegetables at a very reasonable price. It works like a large buying club with centralized buying and co-ordination. It is open to everyone with no membership fees or long term commitments. Whenever possible local farmers provide the produce. The Fresh Food Box happens once a month and for $17.00 there is family size box. Contact the office to order or for more information.
The snow is slowly leaving and spring is getting closer. As you bask in the warm weather and delight in the new growth, please remember that all things come from God and a heartfelt thanks is never remiss.
Blessings,
Nancy
