There is a cool crispness in the air, the days are growing shorter and we are surrounded by the riot of colour. It is definitely fall. Hopefully life has settled into a routine of school, work, activities and family time. I hope that you have decided to include time for your spiritual life for you and your family.
Messy Church is Wednesday, October 10. The theme is “Light Shining into the Darkness.” The doors open at 5:00, but arrive when you can. If you need to leave early, let the kitchen volunteers know so that they can have dinner ready for you early.
Baby Talk happens every Friday from 10:30 – 12:30. Baby Talk is for babies 0 to mobile and their parents. It is a chance for parents to share ideas and conversation. There is a breast feeding specialist present most Fridays to offer advice.
The Fresh Food Box is an economical way to provide fresh fruits and vegetables for your family. A family box is $17.00 and includes as much locally grown produce as is possible. Orders are due by October 12 and can be left at the office. Pick up is October 23 from 4:30 – 7:30.
The Time & Talent Auction returns on October 21st at 12:30. This is a fund raiser for St. George’s. People offer a skill or time for auction. Such things as errand running, pies, prepared meals, home repairs, computer training etc are up for bids. It is a fun time.
Please mark on your calendar St. George’s Christmas Bazaar on November 3 with the doors opening at 10 am. It is said that St. George’s has the best bazaar in Georgetown! If you have any extra jams, jellies or pickles from your canning efforts, consider donating them to the Country Kitchen. Other donations for the bazaar are also welcome. St. George’s has a wonderful tradition of creating ‘cookie trays’ with a variety of tasty homemade cookies. They are great for the upcoming Christmas season. If you would like to contribute cookies for the trays or anything else please contact the Church Office at 905-877-8044.
If you would like to receive the St. George’s e-bulletin to keep informed of upcoming activities and events you can sign up here.
God’s blessings,
The Rev’d Nancy Rowe
