Antiques Appraisal Show coming to Georgetown – Back By Popular Demand

THE ANTIQUES ROAD SHOW is a very popular PBS television show in which participants bring their treasures and heirlooms to be viewed by all and informally appraised by experts. Once again, St. Georges Anglican Church, at 60 Guelph Street, is proud to be getting its own version of this show coming to the Parish Hall on SEPTEMBER 29, from 1 – 4:30pm. For a modest fee of $20 per item for appraisal, which also includes tea and cakes while you watch the show, or $5 for tea and cakes to just watch, you can find out what your valuables are finally worth without the expense of taking it to an estate appraiser. That being said, Century Estate Services, which is donating their services, is generously offering us a 2 hour consultation or official appraisal record valued at $300 to auction off during the show.

The only exception to items able to be appraised will be jewelry, as special equipment is required for this, otherwise bring your silver, furniture, books, pictures or whatever heirlooms, memorabilia, collectables or treasures you are curious to know about. From past experience, a very eclectic mix of things will be brought, which adds to the fun and interest. [NO JEWELRY].

Because we are only able to appraise between 40 -50 items within the allotted time frame, we ask that you preregister by contacting Kyle Jones at 905 873 2073 or pkjones@cogeco.ca.

Those that register are asked to please pre-pay for your time slot prior to September 29th so that an appraisal can be assured of a spot. There is a limit of 2 items per family for appraisal to give everyone an opportunity to participate.

The show will start at 1pm – but start bringing your things at 12:30 so we are ready to roll, and end at around 4:30, on SATURDAY,SEPTEMBER 29. Overflow parking available at the High School.

$20 per appraisal item [tea and cakes incl.]

$5 to watch the fun and have tea

Hope to see you there!
