The Fresh Food Box program is good for us in so many ways. It encourages us to eat more healthy foods and less prepared foods, which is good for our bodies. It provides as much local and Ontario grown produce as is possible and available each month, which is good for our communities, province, and local farmers. And it is good for our soul, because we both help to encourage others to eat health by helping to pack and distribute the boxes and we honour God’s creation by celebrating the blessings of the earth.
It is good in so many ways.
The food in this month’s box looked awesome. Here is a list of what was in the large box: corn, leeks, Swiss chard, peaches, nectarines, Gifford pears, broccoli, Romaine baby green, topped carrots, roma tomatoes, bell peppers, cooking onions, salad cucumbers, a watermelon, and an eggplant. All that for just $17!
