2005 Church School Startup and Bishop's Visit

On Sunday, September 11, 2005, St. George's will be welcoming back our regular church school teachers and children. Registration for classes will take place at both our 9:30 and 11:15 service. Our excellent volunteer teachers are preparing for another great year using and exploring the Seasons of the Spirit curriculum. Nursery care is also provided during both services in the lounge.

Also on this Sunday, St. George's is privileged to be visited by our diocesan bishop, The Right Rev'd D. Ralph Spence. Bishop Spence, as always, celebrates his opportunities to visit the parishes of his diocese, and he brings with him words that express his strong and caring pastoral nature as well as his excellent sense of humour. In honour of his visit, Ron Greidanus, music director, and our parish choir have prepared some special music for the 9:30 am service which will include a piece by J.S. Bach enhanced by timpani drum and trumpet. The 11:15 service will have much less pomp, but will showcase a more less-traditional music in keeping with its own new and developing worship style.
